William L Clements Library at University of Michigan

Located on the central campus of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, the William L. Clements Library houses original resources for the study of American history and culture from the fifteenth to the early twentieth century. Its mission is to collect and preserve primary source materials, to make them available for research, and to create an environment that supports and encourages scholarly investigation of our nation’s past.

The Library is open Monday-Wednesday and Friday 9:00 am – 4:45 pm, and Thursday 9:00 am – 7:45 pm throughout the year, excepting the following days: Christmas, New Year’s Day, the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and the day following Thanksgiving.

The exhibit room is open to the public Monday-Friday, 1:00 pm-4:45 pm and by special appointment.
